Desert-like landscapes, wastelands devoid of vegetation, animals, and people-the first series in the present volume was created in the Sahara, Iceland, and on the Svalbard archipelago. Using the early photographic technique of the cyanotype, the artist transforms nature into a fascinating play of blue tones and alienated structures.
