A study on minimalist syntax this book develops an empirical argument for a crash-proof computational system. This framework allows for novel analyses of quirky subjects in Icelandic and Spanish, indefinite SE in Spanish and different types of expletive constructions in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Icelandic.

This volume examines the developmental aspects of the general psychological construct of self-determination. The term refers to self- (vs. other-) caused action-to people acting volitionally-as based on their own will. Research conducted in the fields of psychology and education shows the importance of self-determination to adolescent development and positive adult outcomes. The first part of this volume presents an overview of theories and historical antecedents of the construct. It looks at the role of self-determination in major theories of human agentic behavior and of adolescent development and individuation. The second part of the volume examines the developmental origins and the trajectory of self-determination in childhood, adolescence, and adulthood, and looks as aging aspects. The next part presents studies on the evolutionary aspects, individual differences and healthy psychological development. The last part of the book covers the development of causal and agentic capability.
This book is a comprehensive guide to rare tumors and tumor-like conditions of the urinary system and male genital organs. It comprises five chapters, devoted to the kidney, bladder, prostate, testes, and penis. Each chapter begins with a brief overview of "common" tumors and tumor-like conditions and with a section on the classification of both common and rare entities. The main clinical, pathological, immunohistochemical, and molecular findings for each rare tumor or tumor-like condition are then described and discussed. Significant characteristics are also documented by representative high-quality illustrations, with emphasis on those aspects of most relevance to differential diagnosis. In addition, prognostic features are fully covered. Urological Pathology: Rare Tumors and Tumor-Like Conditions will be ideal source of core information and practical guidance for residents, fellows, pathologists, urologists, and oncologists.
This forward-looking resource shines needed light on-and offers realistic solutions for eliminating-health disparities affecting one of the most vulnerable populations: children. Plentiful opportunities are described for reducing gaps and promoting equity at various service platforms, from locally-based improvements to systemwide tech upgrades, that can be used as models for revamping larger health policy. And the authors' long-term perspective emphasizes screening, wellness care, early intervention, and prevention strategies to support young patients in the transitions between childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood. This book provides a bi-national portrait of dementia in the rapidly aging Mexican-origin population in Mexico and the United States. It provides a comprehensive overview of critical conceptual and methodological issues in the study of cognitive aging and related mental and physical conditions. The book examines the sources of vulnerability and their consequences for Mexican-origin and for "aging in place". By providing a combination of new knowledge, empirical evidence, and fresh approaches of dementia support in later life, this book will contribute to moving the field of Mexican-origin aging and health forward. By focusing on the serious challenges in old-age support for older people with dementia and neurocognitive disorders in two different contexts, this book will deepen academics, researchers, students and young investigators understanding of what is necessary to achieve optional care.
